Greenland is the largest island in the world. Yet, despite its prominent presence on the world map, most people know very little about its culture and the people who call this remote place home. This inspired a Greenlandic woman named Qupanuk to share and teach the world about life in Greenland through a series of insightful videos. Her channel, Q's Greenland, is a one-stop-shop to know everything about the country, from its traditional food to its unique language.

While many associate Greenland with remoteness and frigid temperatures, Qupanuk—or Q, as she is known—always takes the time to note that “life is amazing” there in her videos. On top of posting every day about what makes Greenland such a unique place, she is the country's first and only mining engineer and mother of four. Originally from Qaqortoq, in Southern Greenland, she currently lives Nuuk, the capital city of Greenland, which has a population of under 20,000.

Her channel's name, Q's Greenland, is a reference to the fact that we're only seeing Greenland through her eyes. Even so, Q's deep understanding of the country and her charming personality make her the perfect teacher of this lesser-known place. She addresses all kinds of topics through her content, ranging from how hot summers get, to how much it costs to go grocery shopping there.

Although Greenland appears very remote, Q also highlights the ways it is connected to the rest of the world.  For example, she addresses what it means for her to hold Danish citizenship–as Greenland is an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark. Additionally, she explains what it is like to have a front-row seat to the effects of climate change, as global warming has made the weather of Greenland much more unpredictable.

Whether it is a tour around Nuuk's tallest buildings—which are only 12 stories tall!— or a quick Greenlandic lesson, Q has painted a compelling picture of the most fascinating aspects of her home, becoming almost like an ambassador of the country to the rest of the world. To stay up to date with her videos and learn even more about this interesting country, follow Q's Greenland on Instagram and TikTok.

Brass instruments are priceless creative tools for the musicians who play them. But no matter how much care goes into them, sometimes accidents happen. Luckily, there are specialized shops dedicated to restoring these beautiful instruments, whatever their level of damage. Recently, J. Landress Brass, a NYC-based brass instrument store and repair shop, gained a lot of attention for the marvelous job they did restoring a crushed trombone. The result is a sparkling instrument that looks almost brand new.

The team at J. Landress Brass captured a mesmerizing video to chronicle the repair process. The fact that the instrument has long lost its shine is the lesser of its problems. According to the store, the trombone “had a run in with a hydraulic seat” which led to its unfortunate state. The bell—the wide, speaker-like part—was so severely bent that it looks like a wilted flower. “They say [it's] unrepairable, but we're going to try to walk you through the steps of getting this fixed,” says Josh Landress, owner of the shop and repairer extraordinaire.

The process is far from smooth, and it looks nearly experimental. Landress reshapes it by hitting it like a blacksmith would, before trying to use his own body weight to bend the trombone back into shape with the help of a buffing cone for car wheels. With little success, Landress resorts to using a blowtorch and later flattening out the ridges with a metal roller.

“This particular bell had sustained severe damage, resulting in work-hardening of the metal,” the team explains. “In cases like these, the appropriate response is to anneal the bell, which rearranges the structure of the metal, softening it. Subsequently, the metal will reharden as we work out the ridges and dents from the bell.”

Once the bell has regained its shape, the next steps are getting rid of any creases and resoldering the edges. After a deep clean and buffering on many scales, the trombone is ready. While Landress humbly describes his work as “not 100% brand new perfect but pretty good,” the restoration he has done is nothing short of miraculous. The trombone does not look out of place with the rest of the instruments in his shop, and it shines so bright it may as well be ready for the stage.

Though it isn’t ideal for trombones to go through such traumatic incidents, there’s no denying that repairs like there are extremely satisfying to watch. To stay up to date with J. Landress Brass' pleasing instrument restorations, you can follow them on Instagram.

Tiny living looks increasingly like one of the easiest ways to fix the housing crisis in the largest cities in the world—especially those with particularly high costs of living. But how tiny is too tiny? YouTuber Cash Jordan, known for his expertise in rentals around the world, rented a 90-square foot apartment in Osaka, Japan, and documented his experience to ponder whether he could see in a space like that in the long run.

For $40 a night, the place looked like a good deal, especially because it was fully appointed and in a convenient location. “In typical Japanese fashion, it comes with room shoes, a tiny little micro kitchen, and a full bathroom with its own set of room shoes,” Jordan explains. “Plus you can take a bath if you really want to. The washer is bigger than the fridge, and the microwave and it’s in the best part of Osaka, Japan, right by all the arcades, all the shops, and all the restaurants.”

To save space, the landlords came up with some clever tricks, like a bathroom door that folds inwards or placing the toaster on top of the microwave. Still, the catch wasn't in the lack of space—after all, Jordan makes it work and seems to appreciate the cozy element to it. However, the noisy bar across the street and the bright light coming in during the day and the night makes it hard to fall asleep.

While it doesn't comfortable for someone on the taller side of the spectrum, maybe someone shorter and on a budget could feel right at home. However, this kind of micro apartment is illegal in the U.S, as Jordan explained in a later video, when he moved to a (marginally larger) 120-square feet micro-apartment. While the illegality of these kinds of dwellings is attributed to safety, it does pose interesting questions on how to optimize space in densely populated areas—and how to do it with dignity for all those looking for their own place.

Despite how natural and common it is, there is still a lot of mystery surrounding death. It can also be an uncomfortable or scary subject for many people to discuss or even think about. For one guy, though, he readily talks about death and his experience with it. In a video posted to Reddit, a man who was pronounced dead and came back to life is interviewed and he describes what dying feels like.

Uploaded by user u/Sufficient-Bug-9112, the clip begins as a random street interview before taking that monumental turn. The interviewer spots a guy wearing a pair broken glasses with one of the temple arms is completely gone. “How did that happen?” the content creator asks, likely expecting a funny story. The man goes on to explain that he had a seizure. “It's a fallout from my death last year,” he states plainly. “I died.”

The man then shares that he had a blood clot in his brain that got so big that it popped his skull open. “Then, I was in a coma for two weeks. I was pronounced dead. My vitals came back on in the ambulance,” he explains. Tthe young man then underwent a six-hour craniectomy, a surgery with a 42% fatality rate. “My doctor calls me a coin flipper, because I flipped a coin on my life, and I had a bad coin, and I still won.”

The interviewer goes on to ask him what it felt like to die. “Peaceful,” the man answers. When questioned about what he saw, he says that he didn't see anything. “Now that I've been through it, what I can say is true that people say is: life flashes before your eyes. Every single memory you’ve made in your entire life will rush past you at light speed. Whatever pain you may be feeling, you won’t feel it anymore. And you’ll start to not even understand what’s going on and you’ll either be back or you won’t,” he says, reenforcing how peaceful it was.

While this won't make death any less of a difficult topic, there is tranquility to be found in this man's words, as his words add to the belief that it is a painless experience. If anything, his story is also a reminder of how you can never really know the stories of the people we come across on the street, so being kind to all is always a good idea.

Skipping rope can be fun for kids and adults alike, but it can also be much more than a game of Double Dutch. The jump rope is a versatile tool that is often used by athletes for their warmup exercises. Some especially talented people even use the jump rope for mind-boggling routines that will entertain and enthrall you. Mimi Youu is a Paris-based performer who pairs her jump rope with a variety of beats to put on mesmerizing performances.

Although only a minute or two in length, each video is captivating to watch. Youu possesses a masterful ease around the jump rope, skipping forward and then reversing her movements without pause. Depending on the song of her choosing, she incorporates a variety of other dance-like steps, sometimes stopping the rope under her foot to sway to the rhythm before hopping again. She calls her unique improv style Rope O'Clock and even has a separate Instagram account dedicated to sharing her moves.

Perhaps the most satisfying trick in Youu's arsenal is the way she throws one end of the jump rope out before catching it in her hand again. Sometimes she will twirl it around, and other times she manipulates the rope like a whip. Whatever she does, you can be sure it pairs perfectly with the mix of dance, R&B, and Afrobeats jams accompanying her performances.

Scroll down to watch more mesmerizing videos by Youu, and be sure to follow her on Instagram so you never miss an update.

Brazilian Orchestra Continues to Play Flawlessly in the Dark During a Power Outage

Orchestra musicians are supremely talented performers. They can push through many obstacles to deliver beautiful music, including a blackout. A now-viral video shows a Brazilian symphony orchestra being plunged into darkness halfway through a concert due to a power outage. Although they couldn't see their conductor nor the sheet music, the orchestra kept playing flawlessly, much to the delight of their audience.

Back in August, the Piracicaba Symphony Orchestra was giving a concert to celebrate the 256th anniversary of the founding of the city of Piracicaba, in the Brazilian state of São Paulo. Suddenly, during the orchestra's performance of “Farandole” from Bizet’s L’Arlésienne Suite, a hailstorm caused a city-wide blackout.

Without missing a beat, the orchestra kept the music going, playing by memory and ear as they awaited for the lights to come back on. For a moment, the light seems to return before engulfing the theatre in darkness again, just as the climax of the piece was approaching. “Musicians and conductor continued on stage in full harmony, until the emergency power generators were activated,” the orchestra said. Finally, the light came back by the end of the piece, resulting in a round of applause from the bewildered concert-goers. Who said a symphony orchestra couldn't play in the dark?

To stay up to date with this group of brilliant musicians, you can follow the Piracicaba Symphony Orchestra on Instagram.

Throughout the years, we've seen people with unique pets, such as axolotls and spiders. But have you ever met a pet water buffalo? A girl named Chen Dongmei, from Sichuan, China, is the proud human of one of these fluffy creatures. From roaming the woods together to posing for selfies, Chen shares her adorable adventures alongside her water buffalo on Instagram.

Chen's water buffalo is named Niuzai (牛仔), which means “cowboy” in Chinese. The sweet animal is 2 years old, and always seems camera-ready. In many of her videos, Chen stands in an open field and calls out to Niuzai. The water buffalo then cheerfully runs to Chen's side, careful not to hurt her with his horns. In many of the clips, the Niuzai lovingly rubs his head against the girl as a way to demonstrate affection and excitement to see her.

For Chen, who seems to live in a rural area, Niuzai is also a trusty coworker. They sometimes do field work together, but there is always time for naps. As a testament to the water buffalo being like all pets big and small, Chen has captured him walking in on her while she is having a snack, hoping that his loving human will share a bite.

Chen and Niuzai's adventures are so endearing that they have sparked many people's imaginations. Some have compared their bond to that of a Disney princess and her animal sidekick, while others would love to see their bond explored in a whimsical Studio Ghibli-like film.

Watch Two Years’ Worth of the Best Animal Sightings From Wildlife Trail Cameras

There are thousands of wolves living in North America, but there is still a lot to be learned about these majestic creatures. The University of Minnesota founded a research project called the Voyageurs Wolf Project with the primary aim of studying what wolves do in the summer—a period which they say is poorly understood. To do this, numerous wildlife cameras were installed in the known wolf pack territories, which the researchers used to gather valuable insight into the canines. However, there are many other animals inhabiting the same ecosystem, so the team put together some of the best sightings of animals between 2021 and 2023 in one montage video.

The footage features short clips from an array of critters, both large and small. Many wolves are seen trotting across the path in a variety of seasons, but there are also skunks, badgers, foxes, and many others. “What makes this video particularly neat,” the Voyageurs Wolf Project explains is that we got footage of virtually every large carnivore in northern Minnesota aside from the ‘black cougar' that some locals claimed to have seen and the famed but elusive ’squatch'… The video is also a great comparison between the size difference of wolves and coyotes at different points in the year. Basically, while the wolves we study are generally on the smaller size (55-67 pounds), they are still much larger than coyotes.”

What's fascinating about this compilation is the variety of wildlife living so close together. Large carnivores like black bears, lynxes, and coyotes all cross in front of the same trail camera at some point, just like the deer and smaller creatures. While most of the animals pass by without too much action, some of the clips are lucky enough to catch a glimpse of wolves rolling in the snow. Additionally, due to the GPS collars some of the wolves are wearing, the researchers are able to identify from which of the 16 local packs they come from. “The wolves in the video are primarily members of the Blood Moon Pack as this camera was squarely in that pack’s territory,” they explain. “Though in one winter sequence toward the end of the video, you see the Windsong Pack—seven wolves—blatantly trespassing!”

Scroll down to watch the video by Voyageurs Wolf Project and be sure to follow their Instagram for more amazing animal content.

Boy Finally Meets His Online Best Friend in Person After 3 Years of Playing Video Games Together
@espn This is too wholesome ❤️ @misunderstood8614 #videogames #gaming #heartwarming ♬ Night Trouble By Petit Biscuit – Tyler

Children sometimes have the most heartwarming displays of friendship. At this age, there is no need to play it cool or tone down their excitement, resulting in truly endearing scenes when they hang out with their buds. For a boy named Brayden, finally getting to meet his online bestie filled him with unfiltered joy, and it was all captured in a sweet video that has now gone viral.

During the pandemic, like many boys his age, Brayden found solace in playing video games online. There, he met Sebastian, who he came across while playing Fortnite and Roblox. With time, their friendship grew beyond online gaming platforms, and they boys FaceTimed each other for three years.

With pandemic measures finally relaxing, the boys' parents set up a plan for them to meet in real life somewhere in the Mississippi Gulf Coast without them knowing. As the clip shows, they were both driven to the meeting point by their moms, who knew their reactions to finally being together would be worth sharing.

The viral clip was taken by Brayden's mom. In the video, the boy suspects she is up to something, as he asks his mother, “Why you get the camera? Huh? Why you got the camera?” As they keep walking, Brayden's mom can be heard saying, “Hey Sebastian!” It's then that Brayden realizes who is standing in front of him—his best friend! First, his jaw drops and he lets out a squeal of joy. Without hesitation, he runs to hug Sebastian, who remains shocked, but smiling.

AI is everywhere. Many artists use AI-powered tools to create mind-blowing works or enhance some interesting concepts. Unfortunately, these resources have also had some questionable uses, including the creation of deepfakes. These altered videos show people doing or saying something that they actually didn't. They're computer-generated clips that look entirely real due its repurposing of existing footage. And while celebrities seem to be the most common target for this, AI presents risings concerns that everyone who consumes digital media should be aware of.

Two of the latest figures to deal with an unauthorized AI-generated version of themselves are actor Tom Hanks and broadcast journalist Gayle King. Hanks first posted a warning to Instagram, letting his followers know that there was an AI scam going around that features his face. “BEWARE!! There’s a video out there promoting some dental plan with an AI version of me. I have nothing to do with it,” the actor wrote over a screenshot of the video.

King also alerted her Instagram followers about an AI-generated video showing her advertising a weight-loss product. “I’ve never heard of this product or used it! Please don’t be fooled by these AI videos,” she wrote. King also shared the original clip the altered version was based on. “I posted this video promoting my radio show on August 31, and they’ve manipulated my voice and video to make it seem like I’m promoting it.”

While this misuse of AI tools seems to come from fraudulent companies, there have also been concerns of its application in more established companies. One of the grievances SAG-AFTRA, the union representing Hollywood actors, has raised during its current strike regards how AI could be used by studios to create digital replicas of actors without proper compensation or approval. When an AI-generated collaboration between Drake and The Weekend hit streaming services earlier this year, music labels raised concerns about how this seemingly harmless bit could become a serious worry for artists in a frail music industry.

To keep harmful AI-generated content at bay, a concerted effort between all parts would be needed—purveyors of these tools could offer ways of tracking the origins of the content, while social media platforms could patch their algorithms to deter its reach, as well as acting quickly in the face of content that has been flagged by users. Should it be needed, even international law could get involved and set some parameters regarding the use of these tools.

AI tools and creations appear to be here to stay, and while a framework of rules set by the key players would be a big step toward protecting the public, platforms that bypass them could always pop up. The days of a video or a picture being proof or something could long be gone, eroding public trust and changing the digital landscape as we know it.

AI presents rising concerns that everyone who consumes digital media should be aware of. Recently, actor Tom Hanks and broadcast journalist Gayle King warned about unauthorized AI-generated versions of themselves being used to promote products they never endorsed.
